My Work. Perspective
Building Japanese Baseball Stadium |
This summer I traveled to Japan to learn about the Japanese Little League. The person I stayed with was the District Administrator and he wants to build a league baseball stadium like in Williamsport, Pennsylvania but in Japan. So I wanted to design a stadium that he would be able to take to the board and show them a design of a stadium they could build. With also where they would be able to get the money from to build this stadium.

I made a survey for Japanese players from Kitsuna, Kawaguchi and Fuchu teams in Japan answered about how they would like the stadium built. Then we had the Red Land League players answer the surveys to get the U.S. the perspective of what they want the stadium to also look like. Then I choose two kids and one parent to write a letter in their perspective to me. I used the information I had collected in the surveys and what I had known about them before since I have built a friendship with most of the best Japanese players.

I ended looking at layouts of the Little League Howard Lamade stadium. So I could construct a stadium, I ended up taking time to build the stadium out of popsicle sticks like the engineer from the Williamsport area advised and the painted it the colors I wanted it to be. I have pictures of my progression while building this stadium through building the field, the seats and the fencing and all of the things that go into a stadium.

History |
I study Japanese baseball player's perspective on American baseball and American baseball player's perspective on Japanese baseball. So I could figure out if it is cultural or game differences and it is more cultural than game differences.
